Basis of these figures
HDFC Life’s results press release and its filing with BSE and NSE could not be opened for this article, so every Q2 FY27 figure is attributed to the Whalesbook and ScanX reports of 15 October 2026; Asia Insurance Post also reported a profit of ₹508 crore (up 13.6%) and net premium income of ₹21,727 crore (up nearly 16%). The year-earlier profit of ₹447.15 crore is from reports on the Q2 FY26 results. Reports on those results give two figures for the year-earlier net premium income, about ₹18,777 crore and ₹18,871.23 crore; this article uses ₹18,777 crore, the figure in the Whalesbook report, which is consistent with the “nearly 16%” in the Asia Insurance Post report. On ₹18,871.23 crore the rise would be about 15.1%. Percentage changes marked as ours are arithmetic on the reported figures.
